Warrington First

Optimise attended the Warrington First Business Club last week (Wednesday 18th November) that was hosted by the North West Development Agency at Centre Parcs, Warrington.

NWDA Cheif Exec Steve Broomhead gave a short insight into what’s happening in the region and Warrington sounds like the place to be. Warrington is right at the heart of the Atlantic Gateway plans which will bring massive investment to the area and is focused around the development of land surrounding the once world renowned Manchester Ship Canal which is owned by Peel Holdings. He also referenced early success in the recent opening of The Media City at Salford Quays, Manchester which has seen the BBC relocated there and plans for parts of ITV to join them.

Steve has recently been made chairman at Warrington Wolves and certainly carried his duties into the meeting letting us know the fixtures of the new season and the Challenge Cup that Warrington Wolves recently won was on hand for avid fans to get a quick picture with.

Thanks to Steve for his time, it is good to know as a local business man that someone so passionate about the region is playing an important role in its future development. Also thanks to Danny Hudson of Watson Solicitors who arranged the event and I will look forward to attending the next Warrington First Business Networking event for the Christmas Lunch at Tom at 101.
